The person does not need to resist for it to be rape. People in violent relationships often know what will result from not cooperating with their batterers’ wishes. Some may have suffered physical abuse or psychological abuse, had money or other necessities taken or withheld from them.

Am I Being Abused?

Domestic Violence can be subtle. Here are some questions to ask yourself or someone else if you suspect domestic violence or abuse.

Civil Protection Orders (CPO)

If you are a victim of domestic violence, you can petition for protection for you and/or your household or family members. A CPO is intended to prevent further domestic violence. It orders someone who has been abusive to do or not to do certain things in the future.
