SAFE on Main Volunteer Program is ready to help you serve your community. Our Volunteer Coordinator plugs volunteers into many areas: crisis-line coverage, child care, client transportation, data entry, and other tasks. To achieve the greatest success, our Volunteer Coordinator conducts training periodically throughout the year. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be happy to answer any questions you may have about volunteering. Training Program
SAFE on Main's Volunteer Program prepares each volunteer for their volunteer experience at SAFE on Main. Opportunities range from helping with yard work, to administrative tasks, to working a shift at the shelter with clients. Most volunteer opportunities will require our 40 hour training program. Email us today, or fill out a volunteer application to find out when our next training program starts.
Training Program topics include: Welcome & Agency Overview, Introduction to Domestic Violence, Realities of Sexual Violence, Human Trafficking & History of Rape Crisis Advocacy, Overview of Legal Advocacy, Everyday life in the Shelter, Effects of DV on Children and Teen Survivors, SAFE on Main Prevention Services, and Trauma Informed Care.
